As for staff, every place I went was very friendly and very nice. I would recommend any of them to go to see for themselves, but I prefer the one with the bedroom separated from the main room. My Mom was a resident her for a month in assisted living.
So that was the concern that precipitated a search for another facility. The fact that we've gone through this timeframe with three to four directors, it was more confusing because we never even got the same story from the same person twice. Also not being able to see her compounded the problem. She didn't really need much help when she first went in, so she participated in the activities, and they weren't really taking her to any of the activities.

Most of the time I was pleased with her care. The facility is beautiful and their activities program was awesome. There was one that I did go to see and I was not pleased with it. Apparently it came up as being affordable for my mom, but it turned out that it wasn’t. It was a weekly rate as opposed to a monthly rate, and it was out of Mom’s price range.
We asked them to put her on a schedule to go to the bathroom which they said they would and apparently they haven't because she is still having a lot of accidents. They let the residents go to the great room and the people just sit there with nothing to do and fall asleep in their chair. It is very disappointing from what they said they would do to what they were actually doing, so now we need to move her. My mother is in Brompton Heights-Williamsville. The concern is that she's always been in assisted living, and they informed us during COVID that she needed to be moved to enhanced. Although checking with the nurses on duty, they haven't done anything different with her than they've had in the past.

The place is clean, but the other section is so big, and I wonder how people can go along with it being so big. It is just too far for me to drive. I ate there a couple of times and I think the food is pretty good.
There is also a smaller living room area near my moms room that she spends quite a bit of time in. My mom loves their art program, playing bingo and going to mass. Mom will be living at Brompton Heights for many years to come.

We didn't eat in the main dining room because they put us in a separate little room, which was nice. The main dining room looked very lovely. It was warm, and the people seemed to be socializing. It was very, very nice and very comfortable for the people. The tour we had at Brompton Heights Located in Williamsville was really nice.
We knew she was leaving, and it was kind of a farewell. She was in like in a semi-private, but that was her finances. It was kind of sparse, but she was packing to leave. Where we were was like a main atrium; it was a huge room for people to socialize and visit.
Not all places catered to respite, to the short-term stay, they were one of them, and their price was the deciding factor. The staff member was phenomenal, she was very helpful, and she was very friendly, and knowledgeable. Everything was in order, it was a very nice facility, clean, and well kept. The rooms were very well done, she did take me into two different sample rooms, and they were very, very nice. It was available and open for my needs. Brompton Heights in Williamsville looked very nice, but the independent side looked old.
The outside looked kind of like institutional, there was not a lot of ground, and they had very little parking. My mother was looking for independent living, she was driving her own car, and there was like no parking. However, it was located in a very nice neighborhood, and it was within two miles from a large hospital. They had different activities to keep the seniors on their toes. We found Brompton Heights for my mom. My first impression of it was that it was clean, it was big, and the residents seemed to be happy.
We are concerned about what seems to be a lack of professionalism on the Brompton's part, and would suggest others be cautious in their dealings with them. Do not be taken in by the beauty/graciousness of first impressions; rather, look deeper. I placed my husband in Brompton Heights for five days while I went to New York. However, the people were very helpful and they took care of contacting the doctor and doing all the paperwork that needed to be done. The activity director was outstanding and they had activities going 24 hours a day. Even if people got up during the night, there were things for them to do.

They have an activity room, which they do more than just regular activities. They encourage the residents to bring their pets no matter what kind of pet they are and she have a cat that is really attached to her. When we walked in at Brompton Heights last January, the place was very nice. I tried eating there and the food was disgusting. They are giving my mom a sandwich at lunch time everyday which is their main meal and she has been losing a lot of weight.
